Claremont Children’s Crusade Yields Three Baptisms
The Children and Adolescent Ministries Department of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, Claremont, in St. Ann, conducted a one week crusade event, under the theme, “Children, Let’s Be Real: You Cannot Live Two Lives”.
The programme, which was held May 11 – 18, had various child preachers who presented the Word of God on a nightly basis. The series concluded on Sabbath, May 18, with young Shantavia Thaxter.
At the end of the programme, three persons were baptized, spurring celebration among the membership for the working of God in their midst, through the ministry of the children.
Pastor of the Claremont District, Andre Sinclair, in commending the children, said, “I’m delighted to have been a part of such an august series. The children spoke from the Word of God and expounded on the importance of living Godly lives. I am looking forward to the days ahead, as with children as these, the future of the leadership of the church is in good hands.”
There are also indications that the children will be embarking on a number of ongoing outreach initiatives, to include street meetings and home visits, as the department seeks to keep the little ones fully engaged in service to their Master.
Children and Adolescent Ministries director of the Claremont church Sister Christine Josephs, in expressing her satisfaction with the programme, said, “It was a good series… I was very pleased with the mentors who were assigned to each speaker. They did an exceptional job with the children.”
