Pastor's Profile
Onyeka Nevins is a devoted servant of God whose journey to pastoral ministry has been marked
by diverse experiences and a steadfast commitment to the gospel. Though a native of Trelawny,
Jamaica, his formative years were spent equally in the parishes of St. Ann and Trelawny before
moving to Kingston for college.
Pastor Nevins holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry, and
Biochemistry, as well as a second Bachelor of Science in Religion and Theology with a minor in
Communication Studies. He also earned an MBA in Banking and Finance, equipping him with a
solid foundation in both spiritual and administrative leadership.
Before answering the call to full-time ministry, Pastor Nevins served in various professional
roles, including educator, emergency medical services provider, laboratory analyst, project
manager, and entrepreneur. His career spans over four years of work in chemical and industrial
laboratory research and more than nine years in pre-hospital emergency care, training and
management.
Since entering formal ministry in 2020, Pastor Nevins has faithfully served in several capacities.
He has served the Reid’s Friendship and Brown’s Town District of Churches as Ministerial Intern
before assuming the role of District Pastor for the Clark’s Town District of Churches. He also
served as Associate Treasurer and currently serves as Treasurer. His passion for evangelism and
discipleship has remained central to his ministry, having led over 150 individuals to Christ
through baptism.
Pastor Nevins is married to Jodian, a professionally trained Guidance Counsellor who now
devotes her time to supporting their family, ministry and nurturing their home. They are the
proud parents of their infant son, Kelechi Ekechi Nathaniel Nevins. Pastor Nevins’ ministry
continues to be marked by a heart for service, a love for souls, and a deep desire to glorify God
in all things.
